Navigating the college process can feel overwhelming—for students and families alike. Between applications, financial aid, scholarships, and big life decisions, it’s easy to feel unsure of where to even begin.
That’s exactly why I created Every Step College Advising—to make the process clearer, less stressful, and more manageable with personalized support.
My passion for this work is both personal and professional. As a college student, I remember how confusing and overwhelming parts of the process felt—especially when it came to financial aid, deadlines, and making the “right” decisions for my future.
I’ve often said, “I wish I had me when I was starting college.” That thought has stayed with me and ultimately became the foundation for this business.
About Jessie Sutherland

I’ve always known I wanted to work with students and families. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from East Tennessee State University in 2007, followed by my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University in 2011.
I also completed a Graduate School of Education certificate through Harvard University in 2022, further strengthening my ability to support students in accessing and succeeding in higher education.
With over 10 years of experience in college admissions and financial aid, I’ve worked closely with students and families at every stage of the process. I’ve seen firsthand how overwhelming it can be—and how much of a difference the right guidance and support can make.
